I'm originally from Detroit, Michigan and now live in Dallas, Texas.  From an early age, I have always had a deeply-rooted passion for using technology and spreadsheets to solve problems and help others succeed.

While attending Michigan Technological University, I discovered that this unique blend of a Mechanical Engineer’s analytical mindset with a customer-focused personality could have incredible real-world implications.  During this time, I held a summer internship at Caterpillar, where I was given many typical tasks of an intern, like compiling data from several different sources into a spreadsheet.  It was one of those "mindless, but someone has to do it every month" projects. At this point, I had experimented enough with VBA (Visual Basic for Applications) to know that this work could probably be automated. So, in my spare time, I began putting my programming hobby to the test and tinkering with a new version of the report. The intent wasn't even to make anything fancy, I was mainly just trying to speed up the process and make the work easier for myself!  

Long story short, the app that I wrote took this report from 4-6 hours of work down to 15 minutes, with a cleaner output, more comprehensive analytics, and better consistency. The group immediately switched over to this script for their data processing, and is still being used to this day.

After college, I first experienced the thrill of turning a hobby into a career, when my passion for educational robot competitions led to a position at VEX Robotics. During my 7 years with the company, VEX rapidly grew from a small team, to eventually receiving a Guinness World Record for hosting the World’s Largest Robotics Competition.  As a core member of this group, I wore many different hats, eventually reaching a Director-level position and reporting directly to the CEO.  However, regardless of my actual day-to-day role, my unique ability to solve challenging problems was always in high demand by my colleagues.  I was occasionally referred to as the resident “Excel guru for hire” - a title I wore with pride.  

As I rose through the proverbial corporate ladder, I began spending less time working directly with customers, and more time in boardrooms.  Less time tackling problems, and more time sending emails.  That void is what led me to Wicked Excel.

In 2020, I decided to form a side company to experiment again with turning a passion into a career: working directly with clients to create programs, projects and spreadsheets that would help automate and enhance business operations. Although my time with VEX was extraordinary, forming Wicked Excel Consulting has now created an avenue to share my unique expertise and background with handfuls of new clients every year, helping more and more people than ever before.

Since shifting to consulting full-time, Wicked Excel has given me the opportunity to take on exciting new projects that have benefited clients across a variety of industries. Some of the larger projects I have taken on include:

My custom excel solutions are tailored to your needs and can help you resolve any problem or issue that you may be dealing with.

What services do you offer?

I offer services from beginner excel courses to excel vba development. What you’ll find on this site are many different common services, but I am not limited to these options. I often work outside of these possibilities. My main purpose is to help you get what you need, and so I can’t always stay inside the box.
